Esther Alice

Esther Alice began bellydancing in 1990.  On a dare she signed up for the bellydance classes offered through the community education program in Boise, ID and loved it!  She studied under Jamilla for 7 years, and participated in every bellydance workshop she could. From 1991-1998 she danced with the Sahara Sunset Dancers in Boise, ID. Esther Alice then took a break from dancing to focus on her education. After receiving her MFA in Costume Design, she moved around the country an awful lot.  While living in Minnesota, she started to take bellydance classes again through the St. Paul Parks and Rec program.  But she couldn't handle the humidity, and seems to have settled in the Phoenix area. After participating in one of Yasmina's Saturday workshops, Esther Alice was once again hooked on bellydancing.  For a giggle, she went to the 2006 Wiggles of the West Belly dance convention with Rukshsana and Yasmina.  While there, she saw Hipnotic Hips perform for the first time.  Because of that performance she decided to focus learning the American Tribal style of bellydance.  She was incredibly flattered when she was asked to join Hipnotic Hips four months later.
