Shoshana
|
Shoshana started dancing in early 1998 after a trip to the Renaissance Festival. She sat down for a show at one of the stages, and out came the most beautiful, mysterious group of dancers she had ever seen. Domba! She was transfixed and knew at that moment she wanted to be part of that world. At the end of the show she gladly tipped the dancers and made a mad dash to the Domba Tent. K-Lee was in charge of the tent that day and she helped Shoshana pick out just the right costume. She made Shoshana feel alive, and beautiful. And for that she is forever grateful. At first it was hard for Shoshana to juggle dancing and family obligations. With 8 children, and a handful of Grandchildren it wasn't going to be easy. Everyone in her family came to understand Tuesdays were Mom's dance night. Tuesdays in Yasmina's classes became the most important thing in her life next to her family. After a couple of years and many more awesome teachers, she helped form the dance group "Troupe Calamity". Troupe Calamity performed at several restaurants, and last class guest spots. In 2002 Troupe Calamity competed in the Wiggles of the West contest in Reno, Nv. They didn't win but had a wonderful experience, and learned so much from so many great dancers. When they returned home the members got busy with life and went on to other things. Shoshana was searching for just the right group of girls to dance and play with when out of the blue it all came together. Hipnotic Hips got its start in a small restaurant over lunch. Five women who all loved dancing, wanted to perform, but most of all wanted a close group of friends to have fun with. Heather, Rachel, Yasmina, and Lori, Shoshana would like you all to know she is blessed to have found all of you. Her life is much richer for having come to know you all, and she looks forward to all that their journey will bring. |
