Yasmina

She was looking for a fun way to exercise and found belly dancing while looking through the phone book. She located a belly dance studio so she gave them a call and signed up for lessons. After the first class she was hooked, she loved the music, the costumes and had a blast.

She has been performing the many styles of belly dancing for many years and teaching since 1989. She was the producer and hostess of “The Joy of Belly Dancing” TV show on Public Access TV in Arizona from 1990 until the show ended in 2003. From the production of the TV show, Seven Veils Productions branched out and produced five professional belly dance performance videos for the market.

Yasmina started a website based on the name of her TV show “Yasmina’s Joy of Belly Dancing” in 1999 and it has blossomed to be one of the top resource pages on our wonderful dance form.

Yasmina left the corp. world and went into belly dancing full time in April 2004. She started to create and import exquisite and unique belly dance costumes. With the success of her costuming business Shimmy Bliss and finding her heart is with American Tribal Style (ATS) Yasmina has taken her company in a new direction concentrating on the needs and wants of the American Tribal Dancer.

On July 9th 2005 a new tribe was formed with five friends coming together to have fun, perform and share their experiences in the art of tribal belly dancing. Yasmina is honored to be a part of Hipnotic Hips and to share this dance with her sisters and see tribal belly dancing through their eyes.

One of the best rewards in her life has been teaching and sharing belly dancing with others. She receives so much from her students they will never know. The dance itself has given her so much more. After that first lesson Yasmina had no idea how much this dance was going to be a part of her life.
